iPod - Not for the Weak Heart
Recent study have found that iPod could be causing interference to pacemakers. Although this news may come
as a surprise to most people, this actually is somehow expected. Everyone knows that airlines ask passengers to
turn off their iPods (and other electronics) during take-off and landing as they can cause interference
to aircraft equipments. How much more interference can it cause to an equipment which may only be
a mere 2-inches away? The question most everyone is asking is how could a small device like iPod
could generate such strong emf - it is not like a mobile phone which needs to generate radio signals.
While we have yet to get any official word from Apple regarding this, there is strong probability that the
emf is produced by the battery or the hard disk.
